BUECKERS CITY SANITATION

Please make sure your refuse and recycling containers are clear of snow and easily accessible by the refuse and recycling drivers.  They are not allowed to dig them out of the snow bank.  Remember too, per the MN Pollution Control Agency, it is illegal to put any kind of ash into your refuse container.  It is also dangerous, no matter how cold the ash may seem!  THe MPCA suggests you dump ash on your garden or flowerbeds as fertilizer.

SEWER/WATER

If any resident wishes to tour the Wastewater Treatment Plant or the City's new well house, contact Joel Birr at the WWTP.  Give Joel a ring at 356-7509 and he will be pleased to give you a tour explaining how everything works.

PUBLIC WORKS

Snow plowing policy:  no parking on any city street at which more than 2" of fresh snow has accumulated until snow removal crews have cleared the roadways.  Clearing snow away from mailboxes is the responsibility of the homeowner.  It is the owner's responsiblity to repair or replace any mailbox that does not swing when hit by snow or snow plow.  Posts, fences, reflectors or anything else put up by residents on city right-of-way damaged by snow removal equipment is also the homeowner's responsibility.  Please keep fire hydrants clear of snow if you have one in your yard.  Snow may not be pushed, shoveled or blown into city streets.

Hydrant Flushing:  All fire hydrants have been flushed and the barrels have been pumped out on the non-self draining hydrants.  The sanitary sewer lines have also been flushed this fall.

PARKS

The city has been adding more flowers, shrubs and trees to the streets and parks to beautify it.  In order to keep these looking nice, extra help is needed in caring for them.  Are you interested  in providing this kind of help?  If so, please give Ray a call at 320-248-4992

SKATING RINKS

The skating rinks will be open as soon as weather permits us to make and keep good ice.  The hockey and skating rinks are both at Ochotto Park.  The warming house will be open for use as well unless vandalism occurs.  Please turn off lights and shut the door behind you in you're the last one to use the warming house.

COMPOST SITE--THE COMPOST SITE IS NOW CLOSED   Watch for the spring newsletter for the opening date in 2010.

Go down Angelfish Avenue and take a right at the intersection and then go straight through the gate ahead (instead of into the wastewater plant gates).  There will be a large sign marking the compost site.  You will see several piles with signs; please put the items in the correct piles.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The compost site if for grass, leaves, brush and tree branches.  Nothing else is accepted.  If other foreign items keep finding their way into the site we will close the gates immediately without notice.  It will take everyone's help to keep this open.

DOG LICENSES
If you live within the city limits you must license your dog. Please bring in proof of your dog's up to date rabies vaccinations. Cost of the license is $5.00 and it expires one year from date of issuance. It is the pet owner's responsibility to keep the license up to date.
