4:45 PM LIVE NATIONAL BROADCAST

 

The "News from Lake Wobegon" will be broadcast from Lake Wobegon this Fourth of July.

Garrison Keillor is extending his "A Prairie Home Companion" season to include a special free show from 4:45-7 p.m. July 4 at the park along Lake Wobegon Trail in Avon for the 35th anniversary of the show.

The live national broadcast will be outdoors rain or shine and is open to the public.  Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets.

Directions:  County Road 9 and Intersection of County Road 54 (Lake Wobegon Park).  Parking is north of the trail at the Community Church and Avon Elementary School.

The show will feature the Lake Wobegon Brass Band, sound effects engineer Tom Keith, Rich Dworsky, Guys All-Star Shoe Band, The St. John's Boys Choir, singer Andra Suchy, a bunch of surprise guests and "News from Lake Wobegon" Garrison Keillor .

Ice Cream Cones, Sloppy Joes, Hot Dogs, Brats, Burgers, Taco-in-a-Bag, Walleye Sandwich, Root Beer, Lemonade, Beebop-A-Reebop Rhubarb Pie, and Powdermilk Biscuit-Strawberry Shortcake
